About Us – Good Trouble Association

Making Education Equitable

Dedicated to transforming lives through accessible Montessori education, one child at a time. Since 2020, we’ve been breaking down barriers and creating pathways to educational excellence.

Our Story

The Good Trouble Association was born from a profound recognition that every child deserves access to transformative educational experiences. Our founders, Elizabeth Martinez and Leslie Hale, witnessed firsthand the challenges minority children faced in traditional educational settings and the remarkable impact of Montessori education on learning outcomes.

Named in honor of the philosophy that positive change often requires “good trouble,” our organization embodies the spirit of constructive disruption in education. We believe that by providing access to Montessori education, we can help break cycles of educational inequality and empower the next generation of leaders.

Since our establishment in 2020, we’ve worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between exceptional Montessori education and families who might otherwise be unable to access it. Our work extends beyond simple financial assistance – we’re building a community of support, advocacy, and educational excellence.

Our Mission

To ensure equitable access to Montessori education regardless of socioeconomic status through advocacy and by bridging the financial gap. We provide scholarships to minority children who struggle with the traditional education system and want to attend a Montessori school.

  • Provide financial support through targeted scholarships
  • Advocate for educational equity in our community
  • Support families throughout their educational journey

Our Vision

We envision a future where every child, regardless of their background or economic circumstances, has the opportunity to benefit from the transformative power of Montessori education. Our vision encompasses:

  • A community where education transcends socioeconomic barriers
  • Empowered families making informed educational choices
  • Thriving children reaching their full potential
